More than 150 attorneys, judges, and other interested parties attended the annual meeting of the Hawaii Justice Foundation (“HJF”) at the Hawaii Supreme Court Courtroom at Ali`iolani Hale on Thursday, October 24,2013.
After taking care of the business part of the meeting, HJF Executive Director Robert J. LeClair and HJF President Gregory Markham introduced Chief Justice Mark E. Recktenwald, Hawaii Supreme Court, to provide introductory remarks.
Hawaii Supreme Court Associate Justice Simeon R. Acoba, Jr. described the Access to Justice Commission activities during the past year.
Centennial Professor Charles R. Lawrence, III, William S. Richardson School of Law, University of Hawaii at Manoa, captivated the audience with his words on the equality of access to justice. Dean Aviam Soifer facilitated questions from the audience.
Following the adjournment of the meeting, a delicious lunch was served with the opportunity to continue the conversation of equal justice for all.
